Advice First Aid

This interactive map shows organisations in your area whose staff have completed Advice First Aid training.

These organisations are better equipped to spot when someone may need advice, respond with empathy, and help them access the right support at the right time.

You can use the map to find trained organisations near you and see where Advice First Aid is helping communities connect people to the advice they need.

The Advice First Aid project provides training to frontline workers and volunteers to become ‘Advice First Aiders’. These trusted people within our communities are then better able to identify and support those most in need of advice services. This will support people to be in the best position to manage the challenges they face and ensure they are receiving support to deal with their issues before they become a crisis.

Level 1
On completion of this training you will be able to:

    • Recognise key advice issues and support community members to access advice services
    • Use interview and listening skills to gather information and find the best route to advice
    • Use trusted sources of information
    • Make connections with other local organisations

Level 2
The level 2 training will build on the skills you developed in the level 1 training. On completion of this training you will be able to:

    • Recognise key warning signs (red flags) related to specific advice topics
    • Provide initial basic support and information
    • Make a direct referral to an Advice First Aid Case worker

This training empowers frontline volunteers and staff to spot basic advice needs and support their community members to access the advice they need.
