Administration & Reception – In this role you will be involved in a wide variety of tasks to help with the day to day running of our offices. This can include answering telephone calls and directing clients to the appropriate place, filing, working on the reception desk and greeting clients, writing letters and many other essential tasks.
Advisers including Telephone Advisers – The adviser will assist the client by exploring all the possible options and consequences to enable them to make an informed decision based on the facts. Advisers can either work on a generalist level or specialise in areas such as benefits or employment.
Trustees – Every bureau is a registered charity and therefore has its own board of trustees. Some trustee roles require specific skills but we welcome people of all ages, backgrounds and experience. As a trustee you will be responsible for and plan the overall strategic direction for the bureau, act as employer for paid staff, manage the bureau’s finances, ensure the bureau complies with the law, be responsible for premises, insurance and equipment.
Fundraising Volunteer – Each local Citizens Advice is responsible for raising it’s own funds. This role will involve assisting with and co-ordinating fundraising activities, raising awareness of the bureau and researching fundraising opportunities.
Social Policy Coordinator – In this role you will gather data using information from problems brought to the bureau by clients to help bring about real change by influencing local and national policy. This is a flexible role, which involves a keen eye for detail and an interest in social justice.
